Driver Support
BLIS™
BLIS™ supports you when you have to change lanes in busy traffic. It alerts when a vehicle enters your blind spot or approaches fast from behind. If needed, the Steer Assist function will gently steer you back into your lane. The rear-mounted radar sensors continuously monitor your blind spots and a large area behind your car, day or night, and reacts to almost any type of vehicle, including motorcycles.
360˚ Surround View Camera
As part of the Vision Package, our 360° Surround View Camera shows you a high-resolution bird's eye view of the area surrounding your Volvo – a great help when you reverse or maneuver in confined areas with impaired visibility. The system uses four cameras: two at the door mirrors, one at the front and one at the rear. By touching one of the camera images on the 9-inch Sensus Touchscreen, you can get a view from that specific camera. The rear camera can also be switched to a zoomed-in view close to the car, particularly convenient when you’re hitched to a trailer.
Pilot Assist
Pilot Assist extends semi-autonomous driving to include low-speed traffic jams as well as general highway driving. When semi-autonomous Pilot Assist is activated, acceleration, braking, and steering assistance help you follow the traffic flow within your lane to increase safety. It’s especially useful on long highway trips where the road markings are clearly visible. You can activate Pilot Assist by using the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel. Just select your desired speed and time gap. If your hand is not on the steering wheel, Pilot Assist automatically switches off. It is important to note that the driver is always responsible for how the car is controlled as well as for maintaining the correct distance and speed, even when Pilot Assist is being used. Semi-autonomous systems like Pilot Assist are restricted in how much acceleration, braking, and steering force they can apply.
Large Animal Detection
Large animals like big bucks, deer or moose are, unfortunately, the cause of many collisions. Standard Large Animal Detection, another world-first safety feature from Volvo, allows your car to detect a large animal in the road with a radar camera, warn you, and if necessary, brake if you don’t. If a collision is imminent, the front safety belts are tightened to secure you and your front seat passenger.
Cross Traffic Alert
When you’re reversing out of a parking space, standard Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) warns you of approaching traffic. The rear-mounted radar sensors scan the area to identify any traffic approaching from the sides of your vehicle at a distance of up to 98 feet away. It gets your attention with audible warnings from the left or right rear speaker and by graphics in your display.
Oncoming Lane Mitigation
Standard Oncoming Lane Mitigation automatically helps you steer back into your lane if it detects that you have crossed the lane markings, heading into the path of an oncoming vehicle. If you don’t take action, this system helps you steer the car back. You’ll get an audible warning signal at the same time the car starts to steer. After the steering intervention has been completed, a message is shown in the Digital Driver Display. At anytime, you can override the automatic steering function.
Run-Off Road Mitigation
Run-off Road Mitigation can help reduce the risk of a road departure, which could be caused by poor weather conditions. It assists with steering to help put you back on a safer path. The advanced technology operates at higher speeds if you stray over lane markings to the road edge. It intervenes when a road departure scenario is detected to be imminent by your car’s advanced sensor system. The front safety belts are electrically tightened to safeguard you and your front seat passenger.
Park Assist Pilot
Whether you park in a parallel or perpendicular space, available Park Assist Pilot takes over the steering and guides your car into place. All you need to control are the brake and the accelerator. The technology is so precise it can park in spaces you wouldn’t normally consider – when parallel parking, even a gap just 1.2 times the length of the car is enough.
Adaptive Cruise Control
For more relaxing journeys, standard Adaptive Cruise Control, can automatically maintain your set speed while still keeping a safe distance from the vehicle in front. Just select your desired speed and time gap to the vehicle in front – and enjoy smooth driving from a standstill up to highway speeds. In stop-and-go city traffic, the Queue Assist function helps you follow the vehicle ahead as it accelerates and slows down. On the highway, your speed automatically adapts to the slower moving vehicle to help you maintain a proper distance. Distance Alert activates a red warning light in the lower section of the windshield to help you keep a secure distance.

IntelliSafe.
The V90 Cross Country features a very high level of safety, both protective and preventive. We call this approach IntelliSafe, which includes an entire suite of intuitive technologies. This is made possible because the Volvo V90 Cross Country has a huge capacity to process a vast amount of information about its own trajectory and that of other cars around it. That means it can predict imminent collisions, warn the driver of such danger and finally, intervene to mitigate or avoid collisions entirely.
City Safety.
City Safety is at the heart of IntelliSafe, and is equipped with several standard safety features including Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Information System, Frontal Collision Warning and Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, among many others.
City Safety in the Country.
In the Volvo V90 Cross Country, our comprehensive collision avoidance package, City Safety, also includes detection of large animals, like moose/elk, deer, horses and cows – another Volvo world-first. The standard-fitted radar/ camera unit can detect large animals standing on the road or slowly moving across it with the side towards the vehicle. If a large animal is detected, the Volvo V90 Cross Country warns the driver and brakes automatically, if the driver does not. In this way collisions with large animals can be avoided or mitigated.
Pilot Assist – Gen 2.
A world-first in standard safety equipment, Volvo’s Pilot Assist II technology is a semi-autonomous function that builds on Pilot Assist I. Pilot Assist II maintains a set speed and distance from surrounding vehicles on public roads and is intended to combat monotonous highway driving. The vehicle assists the driver with gentle steering inputs to help keep the vehicle centered in the lane; unlike Pilot Assist I the vehicle no longer needs a lead car to operate. The hands-on semi-autonomous Pilot Assist steering support is active up to speeds of 130km/h.

Front and Rear Seating.
In order to make the backrests as slim as possible and increase legroom in the second row, a completely new frame and specially designed back was developed for this generation of Volvo seat. In the rear, a centre armrest with two cup holders covered by a lid, integrated in the backrest of the rear seat, is included in all available upholsteries. Additional comfort and convenience can be added with optional features like heated rear seats or 4-zone electronic climate control.

Sensus Navigation
Sensus Navigation provides intuitive guidance and connects seamlessly with our cloud-based services and navigation apps. It's conveniently operated using voice or steering wheel controls. Road directions are shown on your large touchscreen. You operate the system without taking your attention from traffic – the voice control carries out your commands. Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI) gives you a clear view of alternate routes. Free map updates ensure easier journeys. Adding the Volvo On Call app, you can send destinations from your smartphone to your car. It also allows you to sync meeting destinations from your personal calendar with the navigation system.
Sensus Connect
Sensus Connect puts you in touch with the digital world and your Volvo – intuitively. Smart driver interfaces like the steering wheel buttons and voice control give you full command – without taking your attention away from the road. The 9-inch Sensus Touchscreen is your infotainment hub, providing access to a host of convenient in-car apps for your entertainment, navigation, control, connectivity, and service.
Volvo On Call
With Volvo On Call, now standard with a 4-year complimentary subscription, you can begin every drive in comfort with the remote engine start. Before you leave on a journey, you can cool or warm your car remotely by starting the engine via your smartphone. You can lock or unlock it with the touch of a button. You can sync meeting destinations from your personal calendar with the navigation system. You can conveniently keep track of business trips and store them as driving journals. Whether you've got a flat tire, have a breakdown or are involved in an emergency, simply press a button to receive assistance. And if an airbag deploys or the safety belt pre-tensioners are activated, the Volvo On Call service center will be alerted automatically – with the emergency crash notification function. Volvo On Call can also alert you to attempted break-ins and allows tracking of your car via satellite. The Volvo On Call app is available for your smartphone, iPad and wearable tech. It can also be used on a Windows 10 PC or tablet.
Digital Driver Display
Utilizing the latest technology, the available user-friendly 12.3-inch Digital Driver Display intuitively shows you information, including entertainment, navigation directions, actual road signs and more. Depending on the way you like to view your info, you can choose from four graphic modes, all with amazing color resolution. For easy viewing, it features two large round instruments with an information display in between. When you use the navigation system, it becomes bigger. The display's brightness automatically adjusts to surrounding light to make it comfortable and restful for the eyes.
Heads-Up Display
Projecting crisp graphics and text onto the lower part of the windshield, the head-up display function makes your journeys easy and intuitive. It shows you warnings and vital information relating to speed limits, cruise control functions, navigation directions and road signs – even incoming phone calls. So your eyes never leave the road while you’re monitoring speed or receiving safety warnings. And you don't have to change focus or look down, which is less strain on the eyes. The brightness of the head-up display adapts automatically to varying light conditions. Plus, you can set the system to suit your own personal preferences and link it to the memory feature for the power-operated seat

Trunk Lid Comfort Opening.
With the Keyless locking/unlocking option, the trunk lid has a comfort opening and closing function activated by moving a foot beneath the left side of the rear bumper.
